A pair of contests in MLS saw the New York Red Bulls (10) edge visiting Toronto FC (13) 1-0 while Real Salt Lake (9) played to a 1-1 draw on the road against the Philadelphia Union (38). In the next flight, the Rochester Rhinos (44) won 2-0 away against the Carolina RailHawks (45) while three other fixtures finished level. Crystal Palace Baltimore (96) fought the Montreal Impact (51) to a scoreless stalemate, the Tampa Bay Rowdies (95) picked up a 1-1 road draw against the Puerto Rico Islanders (30) and the NSC Minnesota Stars (94) registered a 2-2 draw against the host Portland Timbers (50) as the home sides went winless. In the lone match in Central America, host Marathon (43) played to a 1-1 draw against Deportes Savio (NR) to close out the first round of games in Honduras.
Coming up this weekend is Super Saturday with every MLS, USSF-D2 and USL-2 game, along with most of Mexico's Primera fixtures, scheduled for Saturday. The Central American leagues, meanwhile, are primarily featuring games on Sunday.
