LD Update: USL Pro Game Night

The home clubs swept the night in a busy Friday evening slate of USL Pro soccer. Charleston posted a big win with the three others decided by one goal, including Dayton's 1-0 loss in Los Angeles, keeping the US Open Cup quarterfinalists without a victory in league play.

Harrisburg City Islanders 2:1 Rochester Rhinos
- Deadlocked in a scoreless affair, a 35-yard effort from Rochester's Michael Tanke deflected off Dustin Bixler, crossing up goalkeeper Nick Noble as the ball flew by him. The Rhinos looked to be en route to ending a five-game winless run in league play (0-2-3) with only a few minutes remaining only to see the City Islanders rally late for the win. Yann Ekra took a long ball from Bixler, turned and fired an equalizer past Kristian Nicht in the 86th. Then, Lucky Mkosana finished a cross from Bilal Duckett in the 90th. - MORE

LD Update: NASL & USL Pro Game Night

The Puerto Rico Islanders reclaimed sole possession of first and the San Antonio Scorpions kept their hot run going, moving up into second in the NASL table as all three home teams posted big wins on the night. Among them was previously unbeaten Minnesota falling hard for its first loss.

In USL Pro, Charleston missed an opportunity to overtake Orlando for first in the table in their Florida showdown. The story, however, remains Open Cup quarterfinalist Dayton as the Dutch Lions are still winless with another draw.

NORTH AMERICAN SOCCER LEAGUE

Carolina RailHawks 5:1 Minnesota Stars - Don't look now, but the RailHawks may have found their form, posting a second league win in a row against one of the league's top sides. Five goals from five different players was just too much for unbeaten Minnesota, who got their only goal from Simone Bracalello right before the break after already trailing from Austen King and Nick Zimmerman strikes. Brian Shriver, Zack Schilawski and Jason Garey put the match out of reach in the second half. - MORE
