The Fourth of July holiday festivities were a celebratory affair Wednesday night around the lower divisions as the home teams in all five games went home happy as winners. The San Antonio Scorpions used Puerto Rico's loss in Minnesota to expand their league lead to four points. Meanwhile, the big result in USL Pro was Dayton getting a second victory, moving within striking range of making a jump past Charlotte and Pittsburgh to the middle of the table.

Tampa Bay Rowdies 3:1 Fort Lauderdale Strikers - After giving up a goal to the visiting rivals 19 minutes in by Andy Herron, it was all Rowdies. Mike Amberseley restored level terms on the half-hour mark. In the second half Tsuyoshi Yoshitake scored in the 67th with an assist from Dan Antoniuk, who scored himself with five minutes remaining with some assistance from Ambersley. - MORE
Minnesota Stars 4:0 Puerto Rico Islanders - Martin Nunez scored once in each half as Minnesota rolled the big win. He struck for the first in the 17th minute and again in the 57th. Simone Bracalello doubled the lead just before the break and Amani Walker capped the scoring in the 82nd - MORE
San Antonio Scorpions 1:0 FC Edmonton - It took some time, but the Scorpions broke through in the 66th minute with Jonathan Greenfield finding Esteban Bayona for the deciding goal. - MORE

Rochester Rhinos 4:1 Antigua Barracuda - A pair of goals each from Kendell McFayden and Andrew Hoxie led the Rhinos to an easy win. McFayden notched his brace in the first 18 minutes with the assistance of Thomas McManus and JC Branks in the third and 18th minutes. Hoxie came off the bench in the second half with Conor Chinn, who found him in the 77th minute and Isaac Kissi, who connected with him in the 81st. - MORE
Dayton Dutch Lions 1:0 Pittsburgh Riverhounds - Akeem Priestly came off the bench to break a stalemate, giving the Dutch Lions the victory with a strike four minutes from time, beating a defender and firing past the keeper from an acute angle. - MORE
MISL News: In the CONCACAF Futsal Championship in Guatemala the United States and Canada had no luck climbing out of their respective holes, falling in their group finales and exiting the tournament. Qualifying for the FIFA Futsal World Cup with semifinal berths are fellow group members Guatemala, Panama as well as Costa Rica and Mexico from the other group.
