LD Update: NASL Game Night; NASL playoff pairings set

All knotted up. That was the final weekend of the NASL season as Sunday duplicated Saturday's results with two more draws, leaving everyone right where they were in the league table going into the weekend.

The opening round of the NASL postseason is next weekend with the Carolina RailHawks playing host to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers Saturday and the defending champion Minnesota Stars, who won the title as the lowest seed last year, looking to repeat history as they travel to Puerto Rico Sunday. The two winners move on to face San Antonio and Tampa Bay in the Semifinals.

FC Edmonton 2 :: 2 Fort Lauderdale Strikers - The visitors took the early lead 11 minutes in through an Abe Thompson penalty conversion and looked to have the game locked up when Thompson set up Aly Hassan for the Strikers' second. But Edmonton's last breath of the season was a miraculous one. Elvir Gigolaj tallied on an blast to the upper corner in the 90th minute and Paul Craig found the equalizer in the third minute of stoppage time for a defiant finish to the Canadian club's season. - MORE

San Antonio Scorpions 1 :: 1 Minnesota Stars - The Scorpions celebrated the clinching of the regular season the night before based on other results with an early ninth minute strike from Pablo Campos, but the defending league champs would come away with the draw when Kevin Friedland blocked a clearance off the line into the side netting for the equalizer in the 69th. - MORE
