LD Update: Pro signings; Women's championships

In a midweek showdown Wednesday night, the Wilmington Hammerheads and Orlando City played to a stalemate.

Orlando City 1:1 Wilmington Hammerheads - The game went past an hour of play before the visitors got on the board through Bryce Taylor, who beat two defenders to tally in the 68th minute, making the hosts regret a saved Rodrigo Lopez penalty kick from minutes earlier. NASL News: The Puerto Rico Islanders added some depth with three signings, bringing in former MLS players Christian Ibeagha and Paraskevas Pantazopoulos and MLS draft pick Christian Barreiro.

USL Pro News: The LA Blues added former MLS player David Arvizu to the squad.

W-League News: The W-League announced the finalists for its top awards - the Rookie of the Year, Defender of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Coach of the Year and MVP... The league will crown its champion this weekend when the final four meet in the Canadian capitol with overdue contender and host Ottawa Fury in action along with Quebec City Amiral, DC United and Seattle Sounders.

WPSL News: The league will crown both champions this weekend with the host Western New York Flash squaring off against the Chicago Red Stars in Rochester for the WPSL Elite title while Salt Lake United, Aztec MA, Oklahoma FC and host Gulf Coast Texans are set to play for the WPSL title in Pensacola, Fla.

NPSL News: The league's final four meet in San Diego this weekend. Fighting for the championship are the Bay Area Ambassadors, FC Sonic, Chattanooga FC and Madison 56ers.
